Abdulrazzaq Abboud, born in 1958 in Masyaf, Syria, is a distinguished visual artist, archaeological
restorer, and
educator. With a profound passion for the arts and history, Abboud pursued his studies in World History in
Syria, laying
a strong foundation for his future endeavors. His expertise spans various disciplines, including visual arts
and calligraphy, which he teaches to students of all ages.
Throughout his career, Abboud has worked on numerous restoration projects, focusing on Greek and Roman
artifacts as well
as Islamic architecture. His notable works include the restoration of Corinthian stone crowns and Islamic
mosaics. In addition to his restoration work, Abboud has created several stone sculptures inspired by Syrian
culture and
environment, as well as figures representing Arab heritage. Furthermore, he has produced numerous oil
paintings, which have been exhibited in both Syria and Germany, showcasing his versatile talent and deep
connection to his
roots.
Due to the ongoing war in Syria, Abboud was forced to flee his homeland in 2016. He now resides in
Berlin with his
family, continuing his artistic and educational pursuits while contributing to the preservation and
appreciation of cultural heritage.
